Collie Vs Haypark Magpies 10/6/17
11 Jun 2017 by Les Costa
Well it didnt take long for Collie to show dominance. With Cody, Robbie and George all taking a shot at the goal in the first 3 minutes with none of them being successful, it was evident Collie was feeling good.
This must have frustrated them because the next attempt by Robbie was fast and accurately hit the back of the net with force. Shadow shot one off to Cody from the back, Cody tapped it off to Robbie for Robbie to slam it to the back of the net for goal 2.
George burst out from the center of the feild to take a shot, but unfortunately hit the top bar and missed. A couple of corners kept Collie defence on their toes but midfield managed to break through and get the ball off to Robbie for goal 3. Bree put pressure on Hayparks keeper but was unable to catch a gap.
Haypark managed to break through giving them their first goal. Collie responded quickly with one more in before the half time whistle.
Half time Collie 4 Haypark magpies 1.
The start of the second half was a different story. Haypark started it off with a goal and some heavy pressure on Collie defence. Another 2 goals from them had the game at a tie.
Collie managed to shake it off with Shadow leading the defence to take action. This is when the magic really happened and the team showed their full spirit. Like a work of art the team sent the ball forwards passing, talking and encouraging one another even from the bench. Everyone’s name could be mentioned here as they where all as one. Haypark kept trying to break the Collie defence but Collie continued to respond with a NO. Robbie snuck another one passed Hayparks Keeper, then some beautiful keeping by Conner disallowed Haypark in for a response. Robbie put another one through.
Team work and some good foot skills saw George take his goal for the game. And 2 more from Robbie bought it to full time.
COLLIE 9 HAYPARK MAGPIES 4.
Well done to the entire team it really was a great win and you should all be proud.
